20 year old LIPA (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts) student James Murrum was the lucky winner of an amazing prize thanks to Windows 7. Last Friday, special guests the Sugababes, took to the stage for a performance to mark his 21st birthday, which his friends and family are sure to remember.

Windows 7 launched the competition in December on Heart FM to give listeners the opportunity to win this once in a lifetime intimate gig with the band to echo the current 'my idea' advertising campaign. The mechanic was simple, entrants had to suggest fun, unusual and original occasions where the Sugababes could perform and the winner would have their idea turned into reality, with the girls performing at a private gig just for them.

The Performing Arts student commented "I entered the competition as a bit of a joke. I love the girls but I never imagined I would win. When I got the call to say I'd won I was at work and shouldn't really have picked up my phone - I was absolutely shocked and burst out laughing, I thought it must be a wind up."

Originally from Kent, James is a final year student with a real passion for music. "I've grown up with music from a very early age. At school, my background was very much in classical music but at university I've been able to shape my future combining my two real passions; musical theatre and pop into a degree that's both fun and rewarding"

Ahead of the party which took place at Mosquito, below the Living Room in Victoria Street, Murrum commented "I told a couple of close friends and family but largely, I wanted to keep it a secret. I invited about 100 people and it was a great night.

About A Girl (the band's latest single) is such an infectious track, I can't get enough of it. My friends and I learned the dance routine so that we could join in with them"
