Superclub PlayGround, which opened at the Hilton Hotel, Liverpool, in December is proving a popular haunt for those who love to party.
PlayGround launched in spectacular style, bringing with it a big slice of 6-star luxury to Merseyside. No expense was spared on this £2m super-club, designed by the team behind Whisky Mist, and this is evident immediately as you enter. PlayGround oozes style, with its sumptuous décor, eye-catching LCD wall that projects pin-sharp videos, and sound responsive lighting that pulses to the rhythm of the state-of-the-art sound system.
PlayGround is the creation of Ability Group property developer George Panayiotou, whose vision was to bring some Las Vegas-inspired luxury to the deserving people of Liverpool. George then enlisted some of the best people from the north-west to really bring the wow factor.
Liverpool fashion designer Kirsty Doyle designed the staff uniforms, Justine Mills from Cricket is running the membership scheme, and Alex Gerrard designed the membership cards.
Leading North West law firm, Kirwans, hosted a Ladies Lunch on Friday at the Olive Press on Castle Street. Twenty Five ladies attended the lunch, which included a cookery demonstration from Olive Press Sous Chef, Mariusz Holboy, who demonstrated the art of perfecting chopping techniques and gave the ladies an insight into the simple, but effective art of food presentation. Hollyoaks actress Alex Fletcher, who reached the quarter finals last year in the popular TV cookery show Masterchef, was a guest at the lunch and also joined Chef to make the 'perfect' thin based Italian pizza.

Radio City Breakfast presenter, Simon Ross, did a superb job hosting the high profile event.
Nick Pickard, who plays Tony Hutchinson in the soap and co-ordinated the cast entertainment said, "The cast worked so hard to put this showcase together to entertain the guests tonight and they have done an amazing job for two fantastic children's charities. The fact that the guests loved the show so much has made all of the hard work worthwhile."

The annual event, sponsored by Boodles and MSP, has now raised over..£100,000 for the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal and Claire House Children's Hospice.
Cast and guests also enjoyed an after-show party at Cruise Nightclub in Chester, where the party continued until the early hours.

Top city movers and shakers partied with an abundance of sexy soap stars at one of the most lavish bashes ever to be held in Liverpool.
They were among the 400 guests who were invited to the huge celebration to mark the relaunch of our pride and joy.

Luckily, there was no hostility between Corrie's Michelle Keegan and Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe, who are both battling it out to win Sexiest Female at the Inside Soap awards.
The biggest stars of the night were certainly our chefs and mixologists who created first class cocktails including the 'Livertini' and 'Toffeeshoptini' as well as a mouth-watering spread of oysters, cheese, fish, pizza and meat dishes from the 'full to the brim' food stations.

'IT' Girls favourite fashion designer turned DJ HENRY HOLLAND was in Liverpool on Friday night to do a set at a 'Festival' themed party at stylish jewellers Boodles on North John Street. Among the VIP guests for the swish party was Alex Gerrard, who has recently announced her pregnancy with her third child, who looked glamorous in her Roberto Cavalli fringed jacket. The showroom looked stunning with a grassed carpet and grass couch and tables. Cricket boutique showcased some amazing festival outfits and Cream VIP DJ Alan Hartley entertained the guests, many of whom had got into the spirit and Wore their best 'festival' outfits.
Some of the finest diamond jewellery was on display, with some new collections being showcased, free-flowing Christian Audiger champagnes and wines coupled with cool canapés, a sweet shop and touch up make up by Shu Umera ensured that the guests had a fantastic time.
Chester based entrepreneur Dave Hinds and business partner Tim Bacon have brought a stylish new concept to Chester. The Red Door Neighbourhood Bar has opened underneath Blossoms Hotel on St. John Street, Chester, with a VIP launch party on Friday night.

The first Red Door opened in West Kirby in April last year with a £500,000 investment in the former funeral parlour and has proved to be an enormously popular venue in the seaside town. The pair's business relationship stretches back to the early 90's when they set up a concept called JW Johnsons in Manchester, and they eventually went on to set up the Via Vita and Life Café Chains in Liverpool and Manchester at which time they were joined by business partner Jeremy Roberts. The Liverpool Life Café outlet spearheaded a revival of upmarket bars in the city centre. Those venues were sold to Whitbread in 1999 after which Dave Hinds decided to branch out into property leaving Tim Bacon and Jeremy Roberts to set up Living Ventures.

Former Funeral Parlour, the Red Door in West Kirby, hosted a Psychic Evening last night. Over 150 people came along for Psychic readings as well as a Psychic floor show from some of the regions most respected mediums.
